A taxi from Heathrow to Woking with Esskay Cars costs from £57 in a saloon. The fare is fixed for the whole car and includes the Heathrow parking and drop-off charges. Woking is one of the closest Surrey towns to the airport, so the journey is short. Shared between two or three people, it often costs little more than the coach.
People flying from Woking include commuters and business travellers, families from Horsell, Knaphill and Pyrford, staff and visitors at the McLaren campus and the business parks, and students heading to and from home. Visitors to Woking use the same route in reverse, coming from Heathrow to the town centre hotels or to family homes.

How far is Heathrow from Woking?
Woking is about 17 miles from Heathrow by road. Drivers usually take the M25 south from Junction 14 or 15 to Junction 11, then come into Woking through Addlestone, Byfleet or Sheerwater. From the western side of town, the M3 to Junction 3 and the A322 is sometimes quicker. On the way home, the driver picks whichever road is clearer, and your fare does not change. Roadworks around Junction 10 of the M25 and the A3 have caused delays in recent years, so the drivers check the traffic before setting off.

Taxi or RailAir coach?
There is a RailAir coach between Woking station and Heathrow. If you live near the station and travel light, it is good value. Many people, though, live a bus ride away from the station or have a lot of luggage. Others are flying early, before the first coach. For them, a car from the door is quicker and easier.

Meeting you at Heathrow
Add your flight number when you book. We track the flight, and the driver waits in the arrivals hall of your terminal with a name sign. They help with your luggage and take you to the car. If the flight is early or late, the pickup moves with it at no extra cost. For more detail, see our meet and greet guide.
Business travel
Woking has a lot of corporate offices and regional headquarters, and many local businesses send staff through Heathrow. For business travellers, the executive saloon is £76 and gives a quiet, comfortable ride. We can also meet visiting clients and colleagues at Heathrow and bring them to your office. Just give us their name for the arrivals sign.
Families and school holidays
School holiday weekends are the busiest times at Heathrow, and the M25 slows down accordingly. Allow a little extra time and tell us about car seats and pushchairs. An estate fits a family of four with luggage, and a people carrier at £76 suits larger families.
Late-night and early arrivals
Long-haul flights often land at Heathrow between 5am and 7am, and short-haul arrivals can be as late as midnight. The RailAir coach and trains do not run at all hours. A pre-booked car means the driver is waiting in arrivals whenever you land. Because Woking is so close to the airport, you can be home within about half an hour on quiet roads. The fare is the same at night.
Students and young travellers
Students from Woking heading back to university abroad, or international students coming to study nearby, often travel with a lot of luggage. An estate holds four large cases. Two friends on the same flight can share a car and split the fare. If you are travelling alone with heavy bags, a car from the door saves you dragging cases onto a coach.
Visitors staying in Woking
If you are visiting Woking for business, a family event or a stay in one of the town centre hotels, we can collect you at Heathrow and bring you straight there. Give us the hotel or street name when you book. When it is time to leave, we will collect you from the same address for your flight home.
Is a taxi cheaper than parking?
For anything more than a couple of nights, a Heathrow car park often costs more than two taxi fares from Woking. You also avoid the parking bus and the drive home after a long flight. If a friend drops you off, they pay the drop-off charge going out and short stay parking on your return, and make four trips in total. A fixed fare each way is usually the simplest option.
Gatwick from Woking
Gatwick is around 35 miles from Woking, roughly 45 minutes to an hour by car. For flights from Gatwick, put your Woking address in the booking form for a fixed price, or see our Gatwick airport taxi page.
Choosing a vehicle
A saloon carries three passengers and three large cases. An estate takes four and four. A people carrier takes six passengers with five cases, and the 8-seater minivan at £95 carries eight. Groups of twelve or sixteen can book a minibus. Mention golf bags, bikes or other large items when you book.
