Need a taxi in Bletchingley? Esskay Cars is a local firm based in Reigate, about ten minutes west along the A25. We run fixed-fare airport transfers from Bletchingley to Gatwick, Heathrow, London City, Stansted and Luton, and pre-booked local journeys to Redhill, Oxted, Reigate, Godstone and East Surrey Hospital. Every fare is fixed when you book, and you can book at any hour.
Bletchingley has no railway station of its own, and the bus service is thin in the evenings and at weekends. For early flights, hospital appointments, evenings out and train connections, a pre-booked car is often the only practical choice. Being local, we know the High Street, the lanes out to Outwood and South Nutfield, and the quickest way onto the motorway.

Getting to Gatwick
Gatwick is close to Bletchingley. The driver heads west on the A25 to Redhill and down to the M23, or takes the lanes south through South Nutfield and Smallfield, depending on traffic. A saloon is £36, and the fare is the same to the North and South Terminals. For a 7am flight with checked bags, a pickup around 4:45am is usually enough.
Getting to Heathrow
For Heathrow, drivers join the M25 at Junction 6 at Godstone or Junction 8 near Reigate, and go round to Junction 14 or 15. Allow 45 to 60 minutes depending on the time of day. A saloon is £72, and the price back from Heathrow is the same. More detail is on our Heathrow airport taxi page.
Local journeys
Local taxis are useful for anyone without a car, or who would rather not drive and park. We take people to:
- Redhill, Nutfield and Oxted stations for trains to London and the coast;
- East Surrey Hospital and local surgeries;
- schools and colleges in Redhill, Reigate and Oxted;
- restaurants, pubs and events across the area;
- supermarkets and shops in Redhill and Oxted.
If you need a regular booking, such as a weekly hospital appointment or a school run, call us and we will arrange it.
Where we pick up
We cover the whole of Bletchingley: the High Street and Church Walk around St Mary’s Church, Castle Square, Brewer Street, Outwood Lane and the roads around the village. We also cover Outwood, South Nutfield, Nutfield, Godstone and Caterham. See our Godstone taxi and Merstham taxi pages for the neighbouring villages.
Cruise passengers
For cruises from Southampton, a saloon from Bletchingley is £152. For Dover, it is £135. Cruise luggage often needs more room, so an estate or people carrier is a good choice. We can also collect you from the ship on the way home. Give us your sailing details when you book.
A village with limited transport
Bletchingley is an old Surrey village on the A25, with a wide High Street of historic buildings and the medieval St Mary’s Church. Its character is one of the reasons people love living here, but it has no station, and buses to Redhill and Oxted are infrequent, especially in the evenings and on Sundays. For many residents, particularly older people and families without a second car, a reliable pre-booked taxi is an important part of daily life.
Evenings out
If you are heading to Reigate, Redhill or Oxted for dinner, a show or a night out, book a car there and back so nobody has to drive. Tell us the return time when you book, and the driver will be waiting. You can also call when you are ready to leave and we will send a car as soon as one is available.
Walkers on the Greensand Way
The Greensand Way long-distance path runs close to Bletchingley, through some of the best countryside in east Surrey. Walkers often need a lift to a starting point or back to their car at the end of a section. Give us the nearest road or village, and we will quote a fixed price.
Business trips from London City
For business flights from London City Airport, a saloon from Bletchingley is £91. The executive saloon is available for a quieter, more comfortable ride. London City is small and quick to get through, so a car from your door can make an early European meeting much easier.
Family visiting from abroad
If relatives are flying in to stay with you, we can collect them at Gatwick or Heathrow and bring them straight to your door. Book the car in their name, give us their flight number and a contact mobile, and the driver will meet them in arrivals with a name sign.
Coming home from the airport
Add your flight number when you book. The driver tracks your landing, meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign, and drives you back to Bletchingley. The fare does not change if your flight is late.
Early flights and late arrivals
Many holiday flights from Gatwick leave between 6am and 8am, so you may need to leave Bletchingley before 5am. There is no public transport at that hour, so a pre-booked car is the only easy option. On the way home, a late landing is no problem: the driver waits in arrivals however late your flight comes in, and the fare is the same at night.
Older passengers and accessibility
If anyone travelling needs help getting in and out of the car, uses a walking aid or wheelchair, or needs to be taken right to the door of a hospital department, tell us when you book. We will allow extra time and send a suitable vehicle. The driver will help with bags and make sure you are settled before leaving.

- Estate: four passengers and four cases.
- People carrier: six passengers and five cases.
- 8-seater minivan: eight passengers and eight cases.
- Minibuses: 12 and 16 seats, for groups and events.
