Which vehicle gives the best value?
For one to three people, a saloon. For four, an estate. For five or six, a people carrier. For seven or eight, the 8-seater minivan.
Choosing the vehicle that fits your group and luggage is the simplest way to keep the cost down. Booking a bigger vehicle than you need costs more, but squeezing into one that is too small is uncomfortable and can mean leaving bags behind.
When were these prices checked?
All fares on this page came from our booking system in October 2026, for a weekday transfer.
The booker at the top of the page always shows the current price for your exact address and time, and that is the price you pay. If it differs from this table, the booker figure applies.
What is included in a Gatwick taxi price?
The vehicle and driver, fuel, the usual route, and the Gatwick drop-off charge for departures.
For arrivals, the time the driver spends in the short-stay car park while you come through is included in the quote. Optional extras, such as an additional stop or a child seat, are shown in the booking form before you confirm.
Why does the price depend on the vehicle and not the passengers?
Because you hire the whole car. Four people in an estate pay the same fare as one.
That makes a taxi good value for families and groups, compared with buying train tickets for each person. Pick the vehicle by the number of people and the amount of luggage. A saloon takes three people and three cases, an estate four and four.
Is a Gatwick taxi cheaper than the train?
For one person from central London, the train is usually cheaper. For two or more people with luggage, or from towns without a direct line, the taxi is often close in price and much easier.
From places like Reigate, Dorking or Epsom, the train may need a change, and you still need to get to the station. From the towns near Gatwick, a taxi costs less than many people expect. For tips on the lowest fares, see cheap Gatwick taxi.
Do prices change at night or at weekends?
No. Our fixed fares are the same at any time of day and on any day of the week.
There is no night surcharge and no weekend premium. The only things that change the price are the vehicle, the addresses and any extras you add.
Why are some Gatwick taxi prices online so much lower?
Some sites show a starting price that leaves out the airport charge, waiting time or luggage. Our prices include the drop-off charge and are fixed per vehicle.
When comparing quotes, check what is included: the airport drop-off or parking charge, the vehicle size, and whether the price can change on the day. A low headline price that grows with extras is not always the cheaper option.
